Getting test results
You can call the surgery after 2pm and before 5pm to ask the staff about your results.
Immunisation and Vaccinations
Immunisations help protect against serious, vaccine preventable diseases.
GP surgeries are no longer contracted to provide vaccinations in Highland.
Please see the information on the NHS Inform and NHS Highland websites for information on available vaccinations and how to book an appointment.
Screening for Sexually Transmitted Infections
Some sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are irritating, and some can make you seriously ill, but you may not have any symptoms. No one wants an STI so it's important to protect yourself by using a condom and getting tested if you think you might have been at risk.
Most STIs can be cured, and those that can't can be managed with medication. The sooner they are diagnosed, the sooner you can receive treatment, and the less likely you are to pass it on to other people. Request swabs and blood tests from the surgery by ringing reception and asking for STI screening - a GP or nurse will call you back within 72 hours.
Surgery Abroad
Choosing to pay to travel abroad for surgery is not recommended by NHS Scotland, or by the surgical specialist associations in the UK. Surgical options in Scotland can appear more expensive, but you should think about the potential savings against the potential risk of travelling for surgery. If you still wish to do this, be aware that NHS Scotland is under no obligation to provide pre or post operative care other than emergency care. Read this helpful NHS guidance before choosing whether to travel abroad for surgery:
