About the surgery
Students
We regularly have 4th and 5th year medical students training with us. We will ask you before a consultation if you are happy to have a student observing, and there is no problem whatsoever if you prefer not. We enjoy having them study with us, and we have recently been commended by the universities as providing an exceptional experience for our students, so thank you to all our patients who have contributed to this.
News
Public Holidays
Both Munlochy & North Kessock surgeries will be closed on certain specific Public Holidays. The dates are listed under our Opening Hours page.
Patients are asked to make sure that they order their repeat medication, allowing 4 working days before collection.
Receptionist/Dispensing Position
Munlochy and North Kessock surgery is looking for a receptionist/dispenser to complement our hard working team. This is originally for maternity cover from March 2025, but it may become a permanent post. We are a supportive and friendly practice, just minutes from Inverness, which enjoys excellent staff retention.
The post is for 32 hours per week, worked over 4 days which would be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. You should have excellent communication and people skills and be able to work on your own initiative. We are a dispensing practice and although it would be beneficial to have dispensing knowledge, and knowledge of Vision and Docman computer systems, we will provide training for the right candidate.
Pay will be negotiable depending on experience, but we are living wage employers.
We are members of the NHS pension scheme. Terms and conditions on application.
Closing date for this post is Wednesday 22nd January 2025.
Interview date planned for Wednesday 29th January 2025.
Start date anticipated to be Monday 3rd March 2025.

Yoga Class
Dr Michelle is offering a mindful movement yoga class in Munlochy village hall, starting on the 4th Feb, 7.00-7.45 on Tuesday mornings. No booking required, just turn up with a mat and comfy clothes (if you don’t have a mat there will be a couple of mats that can be lent out).
It is donation based - pay what you can, when you can, and it's ok not to pay. Any money raised will go to the Munlochy & North Kessock medical equipment fund. The classes will be aimed at an intermediate level, but there will be options for all, so you don’t have to have done yoga before to come along.
